This was an internal redesign for our product Effective Profile that should have taken place from day one of the product’s life. This project was a complete redesign of the Effective Profile website. You can view the original design here for an idea of what it looked like prior to the redesign.

The primary focus of this project was to design a website that would generate leads. We accomplished this goal by keeping the design simple, stylish, and clear of unecessary distractions. Fromt the homepage a user can get to one of two places (not including the social media links at the top right): a lead generation form (contact form) or the features page where a site visitor can view a feature list, read testimonials, view samples, read frequently asked questions, and finally land on the lead genration page where they will complete a short form to request a consultation.

Once their form is submitted we receive an email containing their form details and information regarding the best way to contact them. From here it is a warm sales call for the product. The lead generation form is also able to generate reports and track visits and form completions, thus giving us the ability to see what the conversion rate is for that lead generation page (number of submissions / number of views = conversion rate %).

This website was built on top of WordPress to allow for easy updating of the testimonials, samples, features, and frequently asked questions.

Does this project sound like something you would like more information about? Are you in need of a website that looks great, functions with the purpose of increasing customer awareness and conversion, and is easy to update? Give us a call: 717-902-9405

Aiken Web Solutions site redesign and WordPress as the CMS

Aiken Web Solutions website redesign and WordPress as the CMS

This is obviously the website you are looking at right now. If you take a look at the versions of this site you will see that version 2.0 had moved away from a website built on WordPress and was completely written in simple HTML and CSS. I state in that version post that I planned to develop the site as my skills in developing WordPress themes increased. They have, and you are experiencing that increase in knowledge and skill.

This website, we’ll call it version 2.1 for lack of a better term, is the HTML and CSS version built onto of WordPress, which uses PHP. So essentially you have the same front end but the backend is entirely different. It is sort of like having to chop fire-wood to heat my home to placing a call to the oil company to refill my oil tank. WordPress as the backend, as the CMS (content management system) allows me to publish updates to the site without having to bother with code. I have all of the code written, and what I publish will simply inherit what I told it to.

This is an example of what can be done for you, and I am glad to have gotten my skill set to this point. Enjoy poking around and please feel free to leave a comment!
